Subject: August 5th meeting of Motorcycle enthusiasts

 

Hello,

 

            I am the interim secretary for the newly formed Research Riders. You are receiving this email because you expressed interest in the group by contacting Milt James.

 

The following meeting notes will be brief and approximate as I did not come prepared to take on the responsibility of secretary, but since I never learned that rule about not volunteering (despite nearly 12yrs in the Air Force) I got myself the job.

 

 

The Meeting:

 

5:14 Milt James called the meeting to order

5:15 to 5:30 brief discussion of the email poll results and then a vote to form a group instead of a club was called and approved. It appeared to be unanimous. 

5:30 to 5:35 We debated names and finally voted with Research Riders winning with 8 votes. 

5:35 to 5:50 Briefing on MS150 Bike to the Beach Charity event and the need for volunteer motorcycle riders to assist in safety monitoring for the 2 day ride.

5:50 to 7:00 We discussed the draft set of bylaws for the club, had some suggested changes that will be incorporated into a final draft, before a vote on approval at the September meeting. Dues were set at $5 per year by the bylaws and everyone was agreeable. We also elected officers, with the following results:

 

Milton James = President

Don Moravits = Vice President

David Moczygemba = Senior Road Captain

Kenneth Irvin = Interim Treasurer

Michael Carpenter = Interim Secretary

 

As the meeting concluded the interim treasurer collected the dues from those who wished to give it.
