The Ride Across Texas competition is a spin-off of Harley-Davidson's ABCs of touring. The rules are simple: 1) Every member is automatically entered. 2) Each Member must send the club President a description of his or her bike(s). Color, Make, Model. 3) If a Member has more than one bike each bike, each bike must be entered. 4) Points are earned by the rider, not the bike. But the bike must have been entered, as per #3. 5) Each Member gets one point for each city they visit that starts with a different letter- maximum is 25. (There is no city in Texas that begins with X). 6) Each Member gets one point for each county they visit that starts with a different letter- maximum is 24. (There are no counties in Texas that begin with Q or X). 7) Each Member will get one point for the State of Texas automatically. 8) Proof of being in a city will count automatically as proof of being in that county. 9) A picture must be sent with the bike in front of an official sign. An official sign is: One that has been put up by a city, county or state governmental body or in front of a building that is a well-known landmark of that city. 10) If a picture is taken in front of a noted landmark, (Luckenback/ Gruene Hall/etc.) it is acceptable only if the club President or another member can recognize it as such. 11) If three Members are together they can vouch for each other, no photos required. 12) Competition will start at 12:01AM April 1st until 12:00 Midnight July 31st. 13) Every member starts with 3 points for the City and County in which they live and the State of Texas. 14) There will be a total of 25 points for cities. No X. 15) There will be a total of 24 points for counties. No Q or X. 16) There will be a total of 1 point for the State of Texas. 17) Maximum points will be 50 ----- 25 for cities + 24 for counties + 1 for Texas. 18) If you are on a charity ride, bring a copy of your entry form and the route and you will get credit, no photos required. 19) If the club President sees you and your bike, that will count, no photos required. 20) Ok, Ok, a speeding ticket will count as long as it has location and description of vehicle. 21) No trailering of bikes. This is Ride Across Texas. 22) In order to have the photo date verified, If you are in the picture, you must include the hand signal that will be given on 1 April. 23) If you cannot be in the picture, then an acceptable sign, also issued on 1 April, must be included in the photo.
